A domestic worker and a gardener were tied up in a bedroom during a house robbery at Midlane Way in Bedfordview on Wednesday, July 14 at 11:55am.

Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said that a domestic worker heard dogs barking and he went to investigate but could not see anything."As she was turning back she saw a man with a gun in her hand, ordering her to keep quiet," he said.

Sgt Nhlabathii said that the man asked her who else was in the house. She lied and told him that her boss and his two male friends and a gardener were there.

He told her to take him there. Two more men appeared and they all went to where the domestic worker said they were.

A few minutes later the gardener appeared. He was also held at gunpoint. "She told the men that maybe her boss and friends used another exit when they left, as she did not see them. The men took the domestic worker and the gardener to the bedroom and tied them up, "he said.

He added that one man guarded them while the other two were ransacking other rooms.

Computer were stolen during the robbery.
